Claiming compensation for injuries after a car accident with PA car insurance
Auto insurance is designed to restore normality in your life after an accident. In some cases, there will be no detrimental physical or financial effects after an accident, due to a good PA car insurance policy and a bit of luck. However, you might be unlucky enough to sustain an injury, and this is where the claims process can get a bit complex. This is where adjusters come into the picture.
When you file a claim, you will be questioned by the adjuster representing your insurance company, and by the adjuster representing the other party’s company.
You will be asked what injuries you sustained, what treatment you have been receiving, and about how those injuries are affecting your day to day life. You may also be asked about your injury history. Why all the questions? Insurers need to confirm that injuries are genuine, and not exaggerated or pre-existing. They also need to establish the extent of the impact on your life – for example, your injuries may be serious enough that they will prevent you from returning to your job for some time or from engaging in your favorite sport or hobby.
The compensation comes from the other party’s insurance company if you were injured in a crash that was not your fault. You will need to rely on the personal injury protection on your PA car insurance policy to be compensated if you are injured in a crash that was your fault.
